On Friday, October 9, 2020, Richmond R-XVI School District was notified that an individual at Richmond High School has tested positive for COVID-19. With guidance from Ray County Health Department, Richmond R-XVI has notified those who were indicated as having been in close contact with the COVID-19 positive individual. Students who are indicated to be close contacts will transition to virtual learning immediately and continue to quarantine. Unless you were called by a school district official, your child has not been identified as a close contact. Ray County Health Department has been contact tracing and continues to do so. Initial quarantine end dates will vary based on exposure and onset of symptoms. Specific quarantine end dates will be provided by the Ray County Health Department. During the time of quarantine, students will participate in virtual learning. Students who are quarantined will not be able to attend or participate in school extracurricular activities for the health and safety of all participants.

Richmond R-XVI School District and the Ray County Health Department (RCHD) were notified of two individuals from Richmond High School who tested positive for COVID-19. All positive cases are immediately isolated and close contacts are notified. The Richmond R-XVI School District is following the RCHD and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. Unless you are/were called by a school district official, your child has not been identified as a close contact.
